Requirements: This hard-working position, often includes long hours during busy times (6-7 days/week during busy times like planting, spraying, harvest, etc, 10+hours per day possible). Must be able to do various tasks involving physical activity. Reliable transportation to work is a must. A valid CDL license with a clean driving record is preferred but previous experience operating semi trucks may be acceptable with the right candidate. Some farm experience especially with large machinery like tractors, planters, sprayers, grain carts, combines, etc. and mechanical skills is also preferred. Like working with people that love farming and being outside. Positive attitude and works easily with others Detail-oriented (particular about equipment care, following instructions, carrying out directions) Additional Information: There is an opportunity to be a bigger part of the operations down the road if commitment, dedication and hard work are displayed. Biddick, Inc. is an agricultural enterprise producing seed and cattle since 1906. Trelay Land & Cattle Co. (TLC) is a concept that pays tribute to a family history, a love of land & cattle and the individuals in eight generations that adapted over and over to make it all happen. In our pastures, we raise registered Angus cattle. In our feedlots, we feed out steers and heifers from a variety of local sources. Our cattle are fed TMR rations, are tagged with the USDA electronic ear tags and are monitored in our custom database. Yet, our people watch the health and monitor the feed bunks, while handling the animals with a sense of caring. Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to: Use of AI breeding and bull selection Record keeping maintenance Cow/calf purebred beef procedures Feeding - Determining feed rations & process of feeding cattle Vaccinations and processing - reasoning, selection & timing of vaccinations Valid current state driver's license and clean driving record Ability to safely operate farm equipment (tractor, skid steer, feed wagon, manure spreader, etc.) Strong attention to detail able to learn and follow safe working practices in all aspects of cattle & farm production. Follow procedures in the form of both written and verbal instruction. Actively participate in production activities of assigned area. Perform quality checks to ensure work meets TLC standards. Accurately record & document required cattle and production information. Work well with others in a team environment. Able to pass background check & pre-employment drug screen Excellent attendance record Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. Hourly wage varies depending on skills and qualifications.
Farm help wanted could be summer seasonal, year round, or possibly part time depending on your availability. Experience operating farm equipment and large trucks preferred, heated shop for winter work. Wage negotiable DOE. Located in northern Cass County ND.
